Do I need an internet connection?
No. Mochi Sensei is fully offline-first — vocabulary, kanji, grammar, flashcards, and mock exams all work without a connection. iCloud sync and the optional AI Sensei chat require internet.
What is AI Sensei and do I need to pay extra for it?
AI Sensei is an optional chat tutor for grammar help, corrections, and conversation practice. It uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models first, and can fall back to your own OpenAI or Claude API key. No extra app purchase is required — you simply provide your own key if you want that fallback.
Which JLPT levels are covered?
All five: N5 through N1, with vocabulary, kanji, and grammar content for each level, plus timed mock exams that mirror the real test format.
